Over the years, going back twenty, we took every opportunity to see Sam and Anson play from New Orleans to San Diego. Sammy was an institution even if he didn't think so. He represents all the beauty and soul of the blues. We always left a show feeling better about the world and filled with the sweet sounds of Sammy Myers and the band. It pains me to know that never again will we stand and applaud as Sammy came on stage, thrilled to be able to listen to a great and humble man play the blues and fill the air with a transcendant sound that transported all of us to a place where Sammy ruled. He will rule forever with the music he left behind. Our thoughts are with his family, Anson and the band and all his fans.
